Vintage and antique jewellery are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference between the two terms. Antique jewellery, on the other hand, is a term used for pieces that are at least 100 years old. Antique jewellery can come from different periods, such as Georgian, Victorian, or Art Deco. Our experienced professionals can help you distinguish between the two and select the perfect piece for your style and budget.
  • What should I know before buying gold?
Here are some important things to keep in mind before making a gold purchase from us: - Karat: Gold jewelry comes in different karat values, which indicate the purity of the gold. Pure gold is 24 karats, but most jewelry is made with 14 or 18 karat gold. The higher the karat value, the more expensive the gold will be. - Weight: The weight of the gold is another important factor to consider. The heavier the piece, the more gold it contains and the more expensive it will be. - Hallmarks: Look for hallmarks on the jewellery, which indicate the purity and authenticity of the gold. Xclusive Jewellers guarantees the quality of the gold we sell. - Price: Gold prices fluctuate daily, so make sure to check the current market price of gold before making a purchase. Xclusive Jewellers offers competitive prices for our gold jewelry. By keeping these factors in mind, you can make an informed decision when buying gold.
  • What are hallmarks on gold and why are they important?
Hallmarks are small inscriptions or markings stamped onto gold jewellery that indicate the purity of the gold and the origin of the piece. They are important because they provide assurance to the buyer that the gold is genuine and of the quality advertised. In some countries, it is illegal to sell gold jewellery without a hallmark, so it is important to always look for one when buying gold jewellery. At Xclusive Jewellers, all of our gold jewellery is hallmarked in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards to ensure that our customers receive only the highest quality products.
  • What is the difference between 18k and 14k gold?
The difference between 18k and 14k gold is the amount of pure gold in the alloy. 18k gold is made up of 75% pure gold and 25% other metals, while 14k gold is made up of 58.3% pure gold and 41.7% other metals. This means that 18k gold is more valuable and softer than 14k gold, which is more durable and affordable. Ultimately, the choice between 18k and 14k gold depends on personal preference and budget. At Xclusive Jewellers, we offer a wide selection of both 18k and 14k gold jewellery to suit your needs.
